    Honeymoon Travel

    By: Roz Bokoff

When planning your wedding, there are so many details to consider! There’s the guest list, the venue, the menu, the music, the dress!, the décor and photographer. Choosing professionals who work well with you and understand what you want from your wedding make it simpler and stress-free (as much as possible). Doing it yourself is not worth the hassle if you want to enjoy your day!

    Planning your Honeymoon

The same is true when planning your honeymoon. Whether you want to leave as soon as the reception is over or you decide to wait a while, a professional travel advisor is your best bet to a stress-free honeymoon.

Figuring you’ll just plan your honeymoon by yourself? Do you think it’s too expensive to use a travel advisor? Most travel professionals don’t charge a fee. They earn a commission, so your cost is the same OR LESS than what you’d pay on your own, since advisors often get access to special deals! And the service, advice and additional perks available through a travel advisor are benefits you’ll want to take advantage of.

Where to Go? What to Do?

While there are popular honeymoon destinations, the “best place to go” depends on what you like to do as a couple and (of course) what your budget allows. A travel professional will listen to you and help you narrow down the destinations and then work on planning a honeymoon you will never forget. (BTW – there’s such a thing as a honeymoon registry to encourage assistance in making your trip special!)

A honeymoon is about celebrating your commitment and love, so you’ll want to incorporate romantic aspects to the trip. It’s fun to add special and unique experiences that you’ll always remember, too. Popular options include couple’s massages or other pampering, creative activities (art or cooking classes) and unique dining experiences.

Around the World, Close to Home, or Somewhere in Between

Some newlyweds opt for honeymoons far from home…taking advantage of their time alone in an exotic destination. For these trips, couples will need enough time to get to their destination and acclimate in order to really enjoy. The Maldives, the South Pacific, safaris in East and South Africa, and New Zealand are among the far-flung destinations that provide an unforgettable vacation. Consider an over-the-water bungalow in the South Pacific for an experience you’ll talk about forever.

    Bora Bora Loveboat Lagoon Cruise

Others look for cultural experiences, visiting Europe or Asia, and checking off bucket lists. Exploring the world together is a great option for energetic couples who love to experience the world through history, art, music or food. Paris – as the motto goes – is for lovers, but Italy and Greece and Portugal and Spain and England and Israel and Egypt and Vietnam and Thailand and Japan and…all have a lot to offer, too! Shopping with a professional chef in the Tel Aviv market, then cooking your purchases for a perfect meal is fun and unforgettable!

    Israel Spice Market

There are plenty of beach lovers who long for R&R and fun in the sun. The Caribbean and Mexico offer countless destinations that honeymooners can choose from, each with its own charm. All-inclusive resorts offer everything a guest could want…and some hotels offer amenities catering to honeymooners. Los Cabos (Mexico) is a super-popular and trending destination, the Caribbean is home to dozens of islands along with the east coast of Mexico, and the Florida Keys are another place to consider. Sunset Monalisa Restaurant in Cabo San Lucas provides an awesome experience with delicious food, live music, and a view that’s to die for…coupled with incredible service!

Even those who have limited time and budgets can find fun ways to get away close to home…wherever that happens to be! New Englanders can escape to romantic inns and resorts throughout the region for a special honeymoon that doesn’t require an airplane. Finding a small vineyard or  hidden gems – restaurants, shops or nature trails – off the beaten track in quaint, small towns is a great way to create memories! You can even try Connecticut’s Sundae Drives for a delicious way to see the state.

Cruises are another choice to consider. Whether on ocean or river, large ship or small, close to home or in a far-off destination, cruises allow you to visit multiple places while unpacking only once – and there’s so much to do aboard and in ports that you’ll be as busy as you want to be.

Celebrating Your Love – Together Alone

Your wedding is the big event and your wedding planner and other professionals are going to make it as stress-free as possible.

Your honeymoon should be stress-free, too. You won’t regret using a professional travel advisor. You’ll get tons of advice, get peace of mind about your journey, have someone to call for help if you need it, and get more for your money. Most important of all, you’ll create amazing memories of your honeymoon!

  • What are Mini & Micro Weddings?

What are Mini & Micro Weddings?

If you’ve been researching weddings in this season of COVID-19, you’ve probably come across the term “Micro Weddings”. One More Bite Catering & Events offers two Premier options involving the idea of a micro wedding. For most event companies, the term “Micro Wedding” is used to describe a small intimate wedding for a few people, mostly taking place in backyard, houses or court house marriage with a small reception afterwards. OMB has taken this concept and developed not one, but TWO premier services. We have stepped away from the idea of just a small intimate wedding and created a luxury experience.

One More Bite’s Micro weddings are weddings that are usually between 7-25 people, and sometimes range up higher to 35 people. These are small, but beautiful weddings. One More Bite will plan, execute and cater a luxe wedding in the style of your choice in a small venue or backyard. Any theme, any style is possible, and for way less than our regular sized wedding packages. For less than 10 people, a wedding can cost less $1000.00 total! We can do anything, from a 5-course gourmet meal to transforming your backyard into the wonderland you’ve always dreamed of.

Mini weddings are something completely different! While they’re still only 7-25 people on average, these weddings are more of a weekend affair! Have us rent a beach house on Newport, a penthouse in Boston or a log cabin in New Hampshire and we’ll go from there. Spend the weekend with your loved ones, experiencing all the luxury we can provide you. Think in home spa treatments, gourmet food from your own person chef, a private ceremony and reception on a weekend “vacation” of your choice. This option is also a choice for our destination wedding seekers from outside the New England area! But don’t think you have be live outside New England to take advantage of this fantastic service!

Send us a message through our contact page for more information about Mini & Micro Weddings!

  • Spiceology Contest!

    Spiceology Contest!

In case you weren’t aware, I like to participate in food contests. My favorites are the ones hosted by Chefsroll (www.chefsroll.com). My first competition with them was over a year ago, where I came in the top 10 (out of 500) with my Southern Fried Chicken and Mac and Cheese Waffles.

I then competed again in their Callebaut Outside the Box Chocolate Contest and had two of my entries move on to the final rounds. That was a fun competition because I literally just had to use Callebaut chocolate in what I was making, and choose from one of the categories. My Chocolate Balsamic Lamb and my Mexican Hot Chocolate Cupcake both made it.

So now, Chefsroll and Spiceology (go check out their site if you haven’t, they have such amazing spices!) are having a contest. So OF COURSE I am competing. And time permitting, in multiple categories. I’ve already finished and submitted one.

The first category I am competing in is the Best “Blend” Dish, using Spiceology Vadouvan. Vadouvan is an Indian Curry Blend with added aromatics like onion and shallots. It’s just such a warm and wonderful spice blend. I decided to use it to make a fried chicken dish. My Vadouvan Fried Chicken with Roasted Fennel and Pickled Carrots has already been submitted to Instagram and you can see it there @chefzoe.

Stay tuned for more of my submissions to the Spiceology contest!

  • Mac & Cheese Nest with Bacon Jam

Mac & Cheese Nest with Bacon Jam

As a fun snack, I occasionally make spaghetti nests with meatballs. They are small, highly personalized little muffin sized spaghetti nests that are very tasty.

Held together with eggs, Parmesan cheese and a touch of cream, these spaghetti nests are very fun and tasty and maybe one day we will give you the recipe for them, and my super delicious meatballs.

This giant mac & cheese nest is loosely based on that. Pasta nests are a million times easier to make with long and thin pasta types like spaghetti, but because we were making mac & cheese, it made more sense to use small shells. I did this knowing it would be a lot harder for the pasta to bake together in a cohesive way.

My gamble paid off. Using a cheese sauce with three cheeses (mozzarella, cheddar and provolone), I patted an entire box of small shells into a springform pan. After baking it at 350F for 15 minutes, I added a bacon and caramelized onion jam to center, and baked it again for another 15 minutes.

You can use any pasta and any mac & cheese recipe to make your own nest, and you can put anything you want in the middle of the nest! You can even make mini versions. Just bake at 350F for 15-20 minutes and then let cool for another 10 out of the oven.

  • Our Mint Julep

    Our Mint Julep

In honor of the 145th running of the Kentucky Derby we decided to add a twist to the classic Mint Julep. We started with five fresh mint leaves, 1 ounce of simple syrup, and 2.5 ounces of Larceny Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky. We added a teaspoon of rose water and poured over crushed ice. Finally we topped it off with some seltzer water.

The inspiration for this twist came from another traditional element of the Kentucky Derby; the official flower. The Rose has been the race’s official flower for a long time, and we felt it had a place in this updated classic.

  • Cheese Bowls

    Cheese Bowls

To keep up with munchies week, we’re adding in these wonderful bowls made of cheese.

When you’re eating anything from pasta to salad, what would make it better? I bet you were just thinking: a BOWL MADE OF CHEESE. And you’d be right. These bowls are made out of shredded Parmesan cheese that are baked for a short amount of time in the oven and then molded to be in the shape of a bowl.

Sounds like a process, right? It’s actually really easy! I don’t even need to fill out a recipe post to let you know how to make these!

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350F. While it’s heating up, prepare a baking sheet or two with parchment paper or silpats.

Step 2: Figure out which bowl you want your cheese bowl to look like. Flip that bowl upside down and made an outline around it with some of the cheese.

Step 3: lift the bowl and fill in the center with more cheese. There can be holes, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Step 4: Bake the cheese for 5-10 minutes or until cheese has begun to brown a bit. Remove from the oven and let cool for two minutes.

Step 5: Using your bowl and a spatula, flip the cheese onto the bowl so it can set.

Step 6: Press the cheese down so it molds with the bowl. Blot off some of the grease with a paper towel. Let set for a minimum of 10 minutes.

Step 7: Remove the bowl from the mold, and fill with whatever you desire… or just eat the bowl. I don’t know your life.

  • Zoe’s Chocolaty Bacon Eclairs

    Zoe’s Chocolaty Bacon Eclairs

Eclairs are an amazing dessert. When I was young I used cannoli and eclair interchangeably. Yes yes I know that’s basically sacrilege, but I’m really into desserts and I was too young to know the difference.

But these are all eclair. I won’t be providing you with the recipe because I will be doing a whole segment on desserts later this year, so if you’re really into it, stay tuned for that.

These eclairs are the perfect munchie. Rich chocolate mixes with espresso and a touch of chili pepper, a slightly crunchy pate au choux, and delicious bacon jam with caramelized onions. Sweet, savory and umani in all the best ways.

(and they’re really easy to make into an edible… )

It’s important to note that eclairs are incredibly time consuming to make if you’ve never made them before.

BUT! If you’re not about making your own, you could always buy some and add your own bacon mixture to the top of it!

  • Chicken Bacon Ranch Manicotti

    Chicken Bacon Ranch Manicotti

Hopefully you’ve seen the video and you already know… IT’S MUNCHIES WEEK! Whether or not you take part in marijuana, these munchies are perfect for any stoner or really anyone who loves cheese and chocolate. Believe me when I say, a food high is definitely a thing.

We’re starting off our week of munchies with a whole mixture of food that is delicious when under the influence. Bacon, pasta, cheese and ranch dressing. Oh, and did I forget, the whole mess is topped off with crushed doritos.

While you can truly make this in any way you want, you can find my recipe for it here. I hope you enjoy munchies week!

  • Brie, Pear and Almond Puffs

    Brie, Pear and Almond Puffs

When I think hors d’oeuvres, I think one bite. Passed hors d’oeuvres should be easily eaten and not messy at all. At the most, you may need to wipe your fingers on a small cocktail napkin.

These little bites are perfect for your next party. These are good when passed on a tray by a well dressed server, or placed on a lovely serving platter, center stage on your food table.

I had a lot of fun building mine. I decided to make cute little flowers with mine ( and then made some that just looked like puffs). These could be made into a variety of shapes and forms, making them incredibly versatile for any affair.

    Get the recipe here.

  • Fluff Cakes

    Fluff Cakes

The giant souffle pancakes that you can find in Japan… they look so good don’t they? These are a version of that. I love fluffy food, and these are the definition of fluffy.

The pancakes themselves, are not dense, but rather very light as they are mostly meringue. While my pomegranate chocolate chip pancakes are very heavy, these ones you can keep eating forever.

Now, mine look small because I only filled my molds 1/4 of the way. But if you fill them 1/2-3/4 of the way, they will be much bigger because they will rise in the mold ( i was being a little lazy).

Oh, please make these. They’re so delicious.
